Businessman and social commentator, Isaac Fayose, has expressed disappointment over what he described as the failure of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to acknowledge or appreciate his support during the last general election.

Fayose made the remarks in a video released on Friday while reacting to criticism that followed his recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

According to him, he made personal sacrifices to support Obi’s presidential ambition, including spending money on the campaign and making his hotel available to supporters.

“I campaigned for Obi. Do you know how much I spent on the last election? Do you know how much I spent on your Obi? I even gave you people my hotel. I even came to the protest,” Fayose said.

He lamented that despite his contributions to the Obedient movement, Obi never reached out to thank or appreciate him.

Fayose contrasted Obi’s alleged silence with what he described as the courtesy shown by Seyi Tinubu during their recent meeting.

He also criticised some supporters of the Obedient movement, accusing them of expecting others to champion political change while attacking those who hold different views.

While reaffirming his admiration for President Bola Tinubu and his son, Fayose maintained that political differences should not affect personal relationships.

He added that he remained free to support any political cause, including campaigning for Tinubu in future elections if he chose to do so.

His comments come days after he dismissed speculation that he had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a viral video of him with Seyi Tinubu.
