Former Belgium international Mousa Dembélé has opened up on how he often receives injections before playing for Tottenham.

Dembélé arrived at the north London club from Fulham in 2012 and spent seven years at Tottenham before leaving the team for Chinese side Guangzhou City.

Speaking with So Foot, Dembele admitted that he played in great pain when with Tottenham.

“What few people know is that in Tottenham I was in pain every day. I often received injections before matches, and theoretically the international breaks should allow me to rest, but I had to join the national team again.
