Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore on Thursday revealed that former President Goodluck Jonathan once asked him to work for his administration, but he turned down the offer.

Sowore made this known during a special interview on ‘State of the Nation’ on LEADERSHIP TV, where he discussed his past interactions with Nigerian politicians.

According to Sowore, the former president reached out to him through an emissary while he was in the United Kingdom.

“When Goodluck became president, he sent a man to come look for me in Breton with money, but I declined, telling him I cannot work with the people under his administration,” Sowore said.

He explained that he had been close to a friend who was actively involved in challenging the political establishment during the tenure of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Reflecting on that period, Sowore suggested that Jonathan was the only politician he might have had some level of connection with, but he remained firm in his stance against working with his government.

Sowore, known for his criticism of Nigerian leaders and his advocacy for good governance, has long positioned himself as an independent figure who rejected affiliations with the established political structures.
