Late wrestling legend Hulk Hogan revealed that he relied on life-threatening amounts of fentanyl to manage severe physical pain following his divorce from his wife, Linda.
The wrestler shared these details in a new Netflix documentary titled ‘Hulk Hogan: Real American’. The documentary features his final interview before his sudden death from a heart attack in July 2025.
Hogan explained that he joined a new wrestling group, TNA, because he needed money after giving “everything” to his ex-wife during their 2009 divorce. However, his body was in no shape to compete, leading him to use the powerful drug to cope with the pain.
The wrestler described taking high doses of fentanyl through patches on his legs and even medicated “lollipops.” He recalled a pharmacist telling him that he should be dead because they had never seen a human being take that much of the drug.
Hogan revealed that his pain was so bad that his back would spasm if he even moved a finger, forcing him to sleep in a chair.
The wrestling icon made his last appearance in the ring in 2012.
