Nigerian singer and music producer Olumide Ogunade, professionally known as “ID Cabasa has voiced concerns over the worsening security situation in Nigeria.

He expressed concern that killings, bandit attacks and terrorism are becoming increasingly common, leaving many citizens living in fear and uncertainty.

In a video posted on Instagram on May 25, the music executive expressed concern that many Nigerians have become used to violence, describing it as a troubling acceptance of wrongdoing.

He added that discussions about insecurity often become politically divided instead of focusing on accountability.

“It is so sad now that we have gotten used to evil. Nigerians have gotten used to the killing; we have adjusted to the darkness that has covered this country. The government of the day is not taking action…” he said.

ID Cabasa also criticised Nigerians for turning insecurity into tribal and political debates, warning that the growing violence, including terrorism and banditry, continues to damage the country.

banditry. “… and it is so sad that when we are even supposed to speak up, people pick political divides. We make these things political, we make it religious, ethnic, tribal, and I am saying this, the devil is devouring us in Nigeria, evil is devouring us in Nigeria, and it is so sad. Whatever name they call it, banditry and terrorism are eating us in Nigeria.”

The producer spoke about the growing fear among parents about children’s safety in schools.

He also referred to recent attacks on schools in Oyo and Plateau State, where teachers were reportedly killed, and families left traumatised. According to him, many Nigerians have become too focused on social media trends while insecurity continues to spread.

Comparing Nigeria’s response to insecurity with countries such as the United States, the music producer questioned the rehabilitation of former terrorists and criticised the government’s approach to justice.

Sharing the video on Instagram, ID Cabasa urged Nigerians to look beyond tribal, religious and political differences and demand urgent action from the government.
