‘If Anybody Picks You, Give Them My Number’, Oyedepo Tells Church Members To Call Him If Kidnapped

The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winner’s Channel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged members of his church to give abductors his phone number if they were ever kidnapped, saying he has the spiritual authority to secure their release.

Oyedepo made the statement during a church service at the ministry’s headquarters in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State. A video of the sermon surfaced online on Thursday and quickly gained traction across social media platforms.

“If anybody picks you, give them my number, give them my number,” the cleric said while addressing the congregation.

He supported the directive with accounts of what he described as past instances of divine intervention involving kidnapped church members.

In one case, Oyedepo said a pastor was abducted and the kidnappers allowed him to speak directly to the victim. According to him, he issued a warning to the abductors.

“I said, in 24 hours, if you don’t take him out, you are dead. The place was vibrating. On the spot,” he recounted.

In another instance, he narrated that a female church member, while in captivity, declared she would regain freedom by 7 a.m. He claimed that although the abductors did not receive any direct call from him, they allegedly began inflicting harm on themselves before releasing her.

“She said, ‘My father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7 a.m.’ They didn’t call. They started cutting themselves,” he said.

Oyedepo further told the congregants that they possessed similar spiritual authority, urging them to recognise and exercise it.

“You have been raised far above the devil. If the church does not conquer these devils, God has left heaven,” the cleric added.
