In an unusual show of tolerance and acceptance in Nigeria’s political space, an Igbo man, Hon. Nelson Chukwu Cyprian Len, is currently serving as a member of Taraba State House of Assembly.
Len is representing Nguroje Constituency in the House and doubles as Chairman, House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism.
This was revealed by a popular polyglot, Adedeji Odulesi, who is a Master of Ceremonies and content producer, on Wednesday morning.
According to Odulesi, Hon. Len’s background is a blend of diverse heritage. “His mother is an indigene while his father is an Igbo man. He was, however, born and bred in Taraba. He speaks Fulfulde, Mambila, Hausa and Igbo,” he wrote.
Odulesi noted that the lawmaker enjoys massive popularity in his constituency. “He is massively loved by the people of his constituency who voted him into office. He recently celebrated his two years in office with massive projects to showcase. Members of his constituency have also gotten strategic appointments,” he added.
Highlighting the inclusive political culture of Nguroje constituency, Odulesi stated,“For his people, it is not about where you are from but what you can deliver. Thus far, he hasn’t disappointed them at all.”
Odulesi concluded his post with a patriotic note, “Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
