President general of Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide, Chief Iorbee Ihagh, has congratulated Hon. Pastor Michael Terver Kokoiwen on his emergence as the new President of the Abuja Chapter of the socio-cultural organisation.
Chief Ihagh described the weekend election as one of the most credible, free, and fair in the group’s history. He praised the Tiv community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for their peaceful conduct and participation.
“This milestone is a testament that Abuja has gotten it right. I charge the new president, Hon. Pastor Kokoiwen, to unite all Tiv people in Abuja to speak with one voice,” Chief Ihagh said.
Describing the Tiv as the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria and the second most populous in the FCT, Ihagh emphasised the importance of their involvement in shaping national and local political frameworks.
He expressed appreciation to election observers, including Mr Luter Iorbee, secretary general of Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide; Engr. Aku Peter, president of Onov Tiv Professionals, and Mr. Moses Akaaza Doom, former acting president of the Abuja chapter, are responsible for ensuring a transparent process.
“Your efforts have helped to build trust, peace, and unity within our community in Abuja and beyond,” he said.
Chief Ihagh also commended the Tiv Council of Traditional Rulers and the Tiv Youths Organisation in Abuja for their support and active involvement in the electoral process.
He concluded by calling for continued unity and dedication to Mdzough U Tiv’s goals, urging the new leadership to uphold the organisation’s integrity and vision.
