Italian centre-back Okoli is on the verge of joining Leicester City from Atalanta, multiple reports in Italy claim.

Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano report that the Foxes are close to securing the services of the 22-year-old, who has just returned to Bergamo after a one-year loan at Frosinone.

Di Marzio said on X, formerly Twitter, that Atalanta will get €15m, including add-ons, from Leicester City.

Okoli is an U21 Italy international with 14 appearances for the Azzurrini.

A product of Atalanta and Vincenza Academies, Okoli spent the last season on loan at Frosinone, collecting 37 appearances across all competitions.

It is a pretty busy day for Atalanta, who are on the verge of signing ex-Aston Villa winger Nicolò Zaniolo on a loan deal with an option to buy from Galatasaray.

The Italy international underwent medical tests with La Dea on Thursday morning and has already arrived at the club’s headquarters to sign his contract.
