A group loyal to Chief Tom Ikimi has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the purposeful leadership of the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as their reason for defection.
The announcement comes ahead of a grand rally scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Igueben local government area of the state.
Sources confirmed the defection as a “call to greatness” and a bold step towards unity, progress, and good governance under Governor Okpebholo.
“We are set to receive staunch loyalists of Chief Tom Ikimi into the All Progressives Congress. And I can assure you that very soon the big masquerade will join us,” the source told our correspondent under anonymity.
Recall that Governor Okpeholo had last weekend received a former PDP House of Representatives member, Hon. Marcus Onobun into the APC.
