‘I’m Tired’, Funmi Awelewa Breaks Down Over Constant Betrayal

Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa has opened up about her emotional struggles, breaking down over repeated betrayal from people close to her. In a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, the Yoruba actress said she is exhausted from constantly encountering the wrong people in her life.

Awelewa revealed that it took her years to heal from betrayal and childhood trauma, and lamented that the same patterns continue to follow her into adulthood. She said the recurring pain has left her feeling lonely and sad, and is the reason she remains single.

“I’m tired of meeting the wrong people. I’m not lucky in seeing myself in people,” she wrote, adding that the betrayal has cut across every circle in her life, including family, friends, workers, and romantic partners — a reality she said has turned her into a loner.

The actress called on God to fight her battles, saying the weight of it all had become too much to bear.
