The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has arrested 107 aliens in Adamawa state.
The state comptroller, Sani Sule, while parading the aliens said 77 of them are Cameroonians, three are Chadian nationals, 21 are Nigeriens, and six are Burkinabe nationals identified as females.
He said they were arrested following coordinated surveillance and intelligence operations carried out across the state.
Sule noted that the operation was in furtherance of the Comptroller General’s (CG) K.N. Nandap directive to strengthen border security and surveillance operations across all entry and exit corridors.
Further investigation and profiling revealed that the Cameroonian and Chadian nationals are suspected of involvement in fraudulent activities, specifically job scam operations.
The Nigerien and Burkinabe nationals were also found to be undocumented and residing in Nigeria illegally.
The NIS urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement, concealment, or activities involving irregular migrants to the nearest immigration formation for swift and appropriate action.
