Imo State government and the National Association of Traditional Medicine Practitioners of Nigeria have resolved to go after unscrupulous dealers parading as genuine practitioners and giving a bad name to the association.

The association says the move is in a bid to flush out quacks and put an end to fake traditional medicine in the state.

The position of the association was made known by its state chairman, Chief John Amarachukwu Nwaike during the inauguration of LGA chapters of the association.

Inaugurating the officers, the state chairman charged members to participate in the verification exercise which the association is going to embark on very soon, warning fake practitioners to quit the field for their own good.

He said the association was putting up a task force that would go after quacks in collaboration with the state government and law enforcement agencies.
