Imo Govt, UNICEF Canvass Sustainable Future For Children

The Imo State government in collaboration with UNICEF has reiterated commitment to creating a conducive, sustainable and safe future for children in the state.

The UNICEF Chief of Field Office, Enugu, Mrs Juliet Chilewe stressed that the future of children is paramount, hence, government and stakeholders must collaborate to enable them realise their dreams.
Mrs Chilewe highlighted that children represent the future leadership of the nation and must be well-groomed now to face the challenges ahead.

She submitted that government and parents have a responsibility to ensure that they acquire basic education, proper training and skill set which would enable them face the future with confidence and boldness.

The UNICEF Chief of Field Office emphasised that they would continue to support government in providing basic needs such as medical care, education and providing a secure environment for the children.

In his comment, the governor recalled that the administration had laid a solid foundation for their future in the five years he had been on the saddle.

Uzodimma urged the people to remain positive and hopeful for a brighter future despite the harsh economic realities.

The governor maintained that President Bola Tinubu and the governors were working tirelessly to build a proud future filled with progress, opportunities and lasting developmental strides.
Uzodimma remarked that the current economic reforms were put in place by the Tinubu Administration to strengthen the systems and support Nigeria’s growth cascading in the building of roads, schools, hospitals and other vital infrastructure.

The governor urged the children to cultivate the attitude of learning, staying in school, building useful skills for the future, appreciate the sacrifices their parents make by showing them love, respect, and being obedient to their spiritual, educational and moral guidance and stay away from bad influences like cultism, theft, and other harmful behaviours that could ruin their future.
