Deputy senate president Barau Jibrin and former senate president, Ahmad Lawn, have congratulated Sen Hope Uzodimma and Usman Ododo on their victories at the just concluded elections in Imo and Kogi States, respectively, stating that it is a vote of confidence on the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared Uzodinma and Ododo, the candidates of APC as winners of the governorship elections conducted in Imo and Kogi States on Saturday.
Senator Barau, in a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ismail Mudashir, described the victories of the Uzodinma and Ododo as the expression of the confidence of the people of the two states in the programmes and policies of the APC.
The victories, he said, would enable Governor Uzodinma to consolidate his developmental projects in Imo State and Ododo to continue the pro-people programmes of Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi State.
“The victory is also a result of the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national chairman of our great party, Dr. Addullahi Umar Ganduje, which has made our party more cohesive,” he said.
Also, former senate president Ahmad Lawan has congratulated the incumbent Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, on his re-election for another term of four years.
He also congratulated the candidate of the APC in Kogi state, Ahmed Usman-Ododo, over the party’s victory in the governorship election held over the weekend.
Lawan, in a statement, attributes the victory of the duo to the dedication, commitment and passion of both candidates and their supporters in the APC.
He describes Uzodimma and Usman-Ododo’s victory as a testament to the strength of the nation’s democracy and the power of the people to make their voices heard.
