The managing director of ISOPADEC, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, spoke at a one-day seminar for youths, held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The seminar tagged “Youth Engagement as a Catalyst for Peace, Security and Development”, was an interactive forum for youths leaders and stakeholders drawn from oil producing communities, to deliberate on peace, security and sustainable development.

Onyedebelu reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to work closely with youths who he described as strategic partners in development, peace and security, emphasizing that collaboration, inclusiveness and shared responsibility were key drivers of sustainable growth.

Further, he assured participants of renewed focus on youth empowerment program, capacity-building and infrastructural interventions.

He disclosed plans by the ISOPADEC to facilitate specialised overseas training opportunities for selected youths to enhance technical skills and global exposure, even as he commended the youths for their constructive engagement and assured them that all issues raised would be carefully reviewed.

Earlier, the attendees of the seminar passed a vote of implicit confidence on Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and the Managing Director of ISOPADEC, Chief Austin Onyedebelu.
