INEC Clears 2m Voters For Elections In Kebbi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared 2,032,041 eligible voters for the presidential and governorship elections in Kebbi State.

The resident electoral commissioner in the state, Barr. Ahmed Bello Muhmud, disclosed this journalists at the INEC headquarters in Birnin Kebbi yesterday.

He said 1,961,028 voters’ cards were distributed by the  commission across the state and 3,743 polling units were earmarked for the conduct of the elections in the state.

According to him,  14,972 presiding officers and assistant presiding officers,  504 collation officers for local government areas and 374 supervisory presiding officers were recruited to conduct the elections.

He added that delivery of non-sensitive materials to 21 local government areas in the state had been completed while the sensitive materials arrived the CBN state office in Birnin kebbi for onward distribution on eve of the election.

The REC also said transportation of ad-hoc staff and security personnel to 3,743 polling units of the 225 registration areas had been concluded.
