The review meeting, held yesterday in Abuja aimed to assess the 2023 General Election’s administration and discuss ways to improve the result management process.

Prof. Yakubu began the meeting by acknowledging the challenges faced by election officials during the electoral process.

The chairman highlighted that the meeting was the fourth engagement with key participants in the 2023 General Election, following meetings with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs), Electoral Officers (EOs), and logistic support personnel.

He noted that collation officers, who played a pivotal role in the election process, were the focus of this particular meeting.

The chairman emphasised that the meeting included the 37 State Collation Officers for the Presidential Election (SCOPEs), many of whom also served as Returning Officers for Governorship elections. For legislative elections, the invited Senatorial District Collation Officers, who also doubled as Returning Officers, represented the six geo-political zones.
