The Independent National Electoral Commission and the National Orientation Agency have intensified their joint voter education efforts as preparations continue for the Federal Capital Territory Area Council Elections scheduled for 21 February 2026.
As part of ongoing public sensitisation activities, senior officials from both institutions participated in a joint radio programme in Abuja.
Representing the NOA FCT Directorate were the Overseeing Director, Princess Egbe Akenzua, and the Deputy Director/Head of Media and Communications, Frank Uche Adigo.
They were joined by Paula Iwenjiora, Deputy Director of Voter and Civic Education at INEC headquarters. The trio featured on The FCT Ballot, a programme on Municipal FM 95.3 hosted by Joan Davou.
During the interactive session, the guests discussed the level of readiness for the upcoming elections and outlined measures being implemented to ensure a peaceful, credible, and well-organised process.
INEC representatives reassured residents that the Commission is fully prepared and equipped to conduct the elections in line with all established procedures.
Mrs. Iwenjiora highlighted the importance of active voter participation and urged eligible residents to turn out on Election Day to fulfil their civic duty.
She restated INEC’s commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and efficient service delivery.
Princess Akenzua also encouraged residents across the FCT to engage fully in the electoral process and to adhere to all guidelines issued by electoral and security authorities to ensure safety before, during, and after the polls.
The joint radio appearance reflects the strengthened partnership between INEC and NOA aimed at boosting voter awareness, encouraging peaceful conduct, and enhancing public confidence ahead of the elections.
End.
