INEC Secretary Becomes First Gimbiya Ryan Kasa Minna

Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr Rose Oriaran Anthony, has been turbaned as the first “Gimbiyan Rayan Kasan Minna”.

The Emir of Minna, Dr Umar Faruq Bahago, described her as a philanthropy of inestimable quality whose kind-heartedness to the unerprivileged cannot be overemphasised.

He said the Emirate out of its will singled her out of many to bestow on her the prestigious title of the first”Gimbiya Rayan Kasan Minna” being the first of such title in the area.

The chairman of INEC, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, who was the special guest of honour, described Anthony as an astute administrator whose professional input to the commission could be be described as overwhelming.

He said the title of “Gimbiyan Rayan Kasan Minna” conferred on her did not come to the INEC family and himself as a surprise, stressing that it was an indication of her benevolence and her commitment to her service to the nation and humanity.

He said,since he assumed office as the Chairman of the Commission,he has worked very closely with her as the accounting officer of the Commission,”and she has proved herself as a professional public servant of inestimable standard.”

The First Gimbiya Ryan Kasa Minna is expected to be one of the strong title holders in the Emirate and one of the few women so awarded with title.
