A fire outbreak has destroyed 200 drums of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and 100 drums of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) at an illegal fuel depot in Adamawa State.

The state director of the Adamawa State Fire Service, Abdullahi Adamu told LEADERSHIP Friday that the illegal depot belonged to Alhaji Ibrahim Mai-Engine Oil, who specialises in hoarding the products and selling the same in Cameroon.

Adamu said the fire occurred at 6:30 pm during the unloading of the products into the drums, when one of the drums had leakage thereby igniting the fire from friction during loading processes.

He said the fire incident, which happened along Jambutu road opposite Jimeta car wash, was put under control by the combined fire fighters, from the federal fire service, state and Faro Bottling Company limited.
