The Kwara State government has commended the management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for its efforts at enhancing educational standards and initiatives, pledging its continued support to the pioneer tertiary institution in the state.

The commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saa’datu Modibbo-  Kawu gave the commendation when she visited the institution.

She  described the polytechnic’s commercial farming and smart agriculture initiative as notable achievements.

Modibbo-Kawu pledged government’s continued support for the polytechnic in its pursuit of academic excellence, assuring that the institution would receive assistance whenever needed.

Responding to the two significant challenges of land encroachment and funding constraints raised by the rector, the commissioner assured the institution of government ‘s  commitment to addressing the land encroachment issues which threatens the polytechnic’s expansion and future development.

She restated the government’s commitment to continue to assist the polytechnic in meeting accreditation standards and provide quality education to its students.

Earlier, the rector of the polytechnic, Dr  Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, had highlighted land encroachment and funding constraints as the institution’s major challenges.
