Kaduna women under the umbrella of the Kuturmi National Women Association have called for urgent action to end the wave of banditry affecting communities in Kachia Local Government Area, as they gathered in a solemn prayer session seeking divine intervention and lasting peace.

The women, who converged at Karatudu LEA Primary School, expressed deep concern over recurring attacks and insecurity in Kuturmi land, which they said has left families in fear and disrupted normal life in several communities.

Dressed in black to signify mourning and anguish over repeated attacks, the women held intercessory prayers, seeking divine intervention for healing, restoration, and lasting peace across affected communities.

The prayer session featured emotional supplications for an end to violence, as the women collectively expressed concern over the growing insecurity that has disrupted social and economic life in Kuturmi communities.

Delivering a sermon, Rev. Yohana Turba Anturu urged the congregation to remain steadfast in their faith, drawing attention to 2 Chronicles 7:14, and called for repentance and sincere prayers as a pathway to restoring peace.

The event also featured teachings and discussions centred on unity and reconciliation, with Mrs Rifkatu Bulus Danfulani warning against internal divisions, which she said weakened collective efforts to address community challenges.

Also speaking, a member representing Kachia in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Peter Agite, pledged stronger collaboration with security agencies, noting that efforts were ongoing to address persistent security threats in the area.

The chairman of Kachia LGA, Hon. Dr Manzo Daniel Maigari, represented by Mr Nanso Abubakar, commended the women for their courage and unity, assuring continued government support to security agencies working to restore peace.

In a goodwill message, the Agom of Kachia, Zamani Dogonyaro, represented by the Waziri of Kachia, Mr Stephen Yakubu, lauded the women for preserving their cultural heritage and promoting unity. He pledged continued collaboration with communities and security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the chiefdom.
