The AIG Zone 10 Sokoto, Mr Gyogon Grimah, has assured Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states under his command that he will not fail in his supervisory roles and will encourage policemen in the field to excel.
Grimah, speaking on insecurity in the zone, said, “I won’t claim that insecurity is waning or has ended, especially in our zone, given the numerous incidents we’ve witnessed.
“Even if incidents don’t occur in town, adverse developments on the outskirts still concern us. The loss of one life is significant, equivalent to many, considering the potential impact on future generations.
“It worries us when we hear of attacks resulting in multiple casualties,” Grimah added.
Grimah emphasised the importance of a working relationship with the state’s police commissioners to strengthen his vision and supervisory role against criminals.
While emphasising that, the commissioners of police are the hierarchy with operational apparatus in their respective commands, he assured that the zone would fulfil its supervisory role across the three states.
Grimah, however, appreciated the media’s support and emphasised that reports should prioritise national interest and avoid sparking adverse public reactions.
“Reports must promote national interest and downplay anything capable of igniting negative public reactions,” he cautioned.
