National president of the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria, (ITPN), Chief Abiodun Odusanwo has congratulated the newly appointed minister of Tourism, Ms. Lola Ade-John.

In a congratulatory letter signed by the institute’s president, he explained that with her wealth of experience in IT and resource management, Ade-John has what it takes to ensure that the country can fully benefit from the enormous potentials of the nation’s tourism resources.

Odusanwo pointed out that the ministry until now have not been in isolation which could have undermined its performance.

“The call for a stand-alone tourism ministry has been on for a very long time now, but coming to the rescue with the creation of the tourism ministry by the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, it is hoped that the Renewed Hope Agenda of his government will truly breath a renewed hope in the Nigerian tourism industry for better performance in the nation’s socio-economic facet,” he said.

He also said the institute as the nation’s premier professional awarding body in tourism, hospitality and related trades, will ensure a high level of competent professional practices in the industry while also putting to check its practices.

He added that the objective is to reposition it as a viable government body that will create enabling environment for operators in the industry at both public and private sector levels.
