Inter-Agency Collaboration: Yobe Information Commissioner Receives iMMAP Country Representative, NOA, Others

In an effort to further strengthened the administration of information system, the Yobe State commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Hon Abdullahi Bego has received in audience the Country Representative of the Information Management and Mapping (iMMAP), an international nonprofit organization that provide information management services, Mr Amir Osman in Damaturu, the state capital.

Mr Osman has while speaking during the visit said he was in Yobe State to see how best the agency can help in strengthening its information management system to facilitate its post-insurgency recovery process.

The country representative stated that as a nonprofit organization, iMMAP has been supporting the three BAY States of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe especially on capacity building, reiterating that the ministry of information remained key in driving its programmes.

He further said the agency has mapped out programmes geared towards supporting the state in different ways urging for effective collaboration with the ministry for the realization of the set objectives.

Osman commended Hon Bego for prioritizing professionalism in managing the state’s information system adding that the efforts are yielding positive results.

The CR used the forum and commended the post-insurgency initiative of the Yobe State government under the able leadership of governor Mai Mala Buni especially the development of durable policy on the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), which was recently launched in Abuja.

The Commissioner, Hon Bego has while speaking, commended the country representative for the visit assuring that the Yobe State government under the leadership of Governor Buni remain resolute to ensure that the post-insurgency recovery initiative especially on effective information and data generation will facilitate better progress.

Bego stated that as a tool for better planning and policy implementation, the government will through the ministry continue to champion information coordination and dissemination at all times.

He reiterated the need for more collaboration between the Yobe State government and the iMMAM among other organizations especially in the area of capacity building and experience sharing on governance and policy implementation.

The commissioner has equally received the Yobe State director National Orientation Agency (NOA) Mallam Ali Audu where he assured to work towards strengthening the relationship existing between the agency and the ministry for better understanding of government policies and programmes at the grassroots.

Bego has equally received in the audience the executive director Child Protection and Women Empowerment Initiative (CPWEI) Hajiya Maryam Hassan represented by programme manager where he commended the organization for their efforts in enlightening the public on the dangers of landmines and explosive devices especially at the areas devastated by the activities of the insurgents across the state.
