The Primate, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, has called on the federal government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to intensify efforts in investigating activities of political leaders who have turned themselves into evil cabals and sacred cows.
Ndukuba who made the call while addressing the second session of the 12th synod, said public office holders who personalised their positions, constituting themselves into demi gods to be worshiped, must not be tolerated.

The primate while commending the Olanipekun Olukayode-led EFCC for the fresh drive to call past leaders to answer for their corruption escapades, said bringing immediate past minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika to answer for his actions while in office even when his Ethiopian collaborators were sacked by the government of Ethiopia, is a big relief to many that had been calling for actions like these.

“Leadership must be seen as a sacred trust from God and an opportunity to serve God and humanity, whether in the political and public spheres or in the church and sacred spheres,” he said.
Ndukuba decried the increasing hardship, starvation and economic difficulties ordinary Nigerian families are facing, calling on families to grow food in this farming season.

“Furthermore, continuous borrowing contributes to inflationary pressures on the economy, because as government injects more money into circulation, it drives up prices, affecting the cost of living for ordinary citizens,” he said.
