Moriki reportedly passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, a development described by IPAC as a significant loss to Nigeria’s political landscape.
In a statement issued from its National Secretariat in Abuja and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins, the council said the late Moriki was a committed democrat who dedicated his life to strengthening multi-party democracy and promoting political inclusiveness in Zamfara State.
“His passing is a great loss not only to his immediate family and loved ones but also to the entire political community in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.
IPAC extended its condolences to the family of the deceased, members of the National Rescue Movement, and the Zamfara State chapter of the council, describing the loss as painful and irreparable.
The council also prayed for the repose of his soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest and give those he left behind the strength to bear the loss.
Alhaji Moriki’s death comes as a shock to political stakeholders in Zamfara State, where he was widely regarded as a unifying figure committed to democratic ideals.
