Iraola Admits Liverpool Need More Signings as Rebuild Gathers Pace

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has acknowledged that the Reds still need to strengthen their squad, revealing the club is working intensively to complete more signings before the new Premier League season.

Speaking at his first press conference since taking charge at Anfield last month, the 44-year-old admitted Liverpool face a significant rebuilding job following the departures of key players Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konaté.

Although the Merseyside club have already secured the arrivals of defender Jérémy Jacquet and forward Víctor Muñoz, Iraola believes further reinforcements are essential.

“We’ve signed two players already, but we need more players—we know this,” Iraola said.

“The club is working on it. As a coach, selfishly, I would like the players to be here from day one and ready for pre-season, but I understand football doesn’t work like that.

“I know the club is working hard on those signings, and I’m also trying to help.”

Iraola was appointed Liverpool manager after an impressive three-year spell at AFC Bournemouth, where he guided the Cherries to a club-record sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season.

The Spaniard now faces the challenge of rebuilding Liverpool’s squad as the club prepare for a new era under his leadership, with supporters eagerly awaiting further additions during the summer transfer window.
