Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, said he has Fulfilled over 70 percent of the campaign promises he made during the 2023 general elections.

Addressing delegates of All Progressives Congress (APC) who selected him during the party’s governorship primaries held at Hairu Abdu Stadium in December 2022, Idris said without their support the mandate would have gone  to another person and not him.

He told the delegates that their votes were not wasted, stressing that a lot of developmental changes have been made in the state under his watch.

The governor thanked them all for their maximum support and foresight in selecting him as the right candidate for APC to defeat the opposition in 2023.

He said, “One thing I know today I am proud to tell you that I have fulfilled over 70 percent of my campaign promises which I took before the electorates during my Campaign tour after you and the majority people of Kebbi State have voted me as governor in 2023.

“If you go round in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi and other major local government areas in the state, you will see a lot of changes in terms of developments, so your votes were not wasted for selecting and voting me into power,” he added.

The governor noted that his administration increased the retirement age of teachers to 65 years or 40 years of service, a policy which distinguished Kebbi State from other states.

He added that his administration has also given political appointments to many APC youths supporters in the state.

Earlier, the leader of delegates,  Muhammad Dan-Sadi had told the governor that they decided to meet him in order to show their appreciation for the laudable projects his administration recorded within a short time.

“Surely we choose the candidate who will not let us down,” Dan-Sadi said.
