The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has summoned 94 candidates and several tertiary institutions to appear before separate virtual panels over alleged examination registration malpractice and the use of fake certificates.
In a notice posted on its X handle on Tuesday, the board said the affected candidates include those accused of soliciting or paying for illicit assistance during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration, as well as 2025 Direct Entry applicants whose certificates have been flagged by their institutions as fraudulent.
JAMB disclosed that the candidates are expected to appear before a virtual investigative panel scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10 a.m.
“The registration numbers of the 94 affected candidates are available on the JAMB website under Quick Links ‘Solicitations Candidates’,” the board said.
It added that access details for the virtual session had already been sent to the candidates via their registered phone numbers.
The Board cautioned that any candidate who fails to honour the invitation would be deemed to have admitted guilt.
“Failure to attend the session will be regarded as an admission of guilt,” it stated.
In a related development, JAMB also directed heads of institutions whose certificates were returned as fake, alongside those previously invited, to attend a separate virtual meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10 a.m.
According to the Board, the names of the affected institutions have been published on its website under the Quick Links section titled “Institutions with Outstanding Response.”
Checks by LEADERSHIP on the JAMB portal showed that 43 institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, are involved, with a total of 2,638 Direct Entry results still awaiting clearance.
