The Yobe State Police Command has announced that Usman Kamfani Jibrin, has officially taken over as the 34th Commissioner of Police in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim. According to him, the new commissioner succeeds Emmanuel Ado, who has been elevated to a higher position within the Nigeria Police Force.
CP Jibrin, a native of Illela Local Government Area in Sokoto State, joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Course 18). With over three decades of service, he has built extensive experience across operational, investigative, and administrative roles.
Throughout his career, he has served in multiple states, including Enugu, Delta, Kaduna, Anambra, Abia, Rivers, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He previously held key positions such as Commissioner of Police, Research and Planning, and most recently served as Commissioner of Police Welfare at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The Command reassured residents that CP Jibrin is committed to upholding professional policing standards, safeguarding lives and property, and fostering stronger collaboration with communities and other security stakeholders to ensure sustained peace and security in Yobe State.
