Jigawa State House of Assembly has reinstated the four local government area chairmen suspended from office on March 6, 2024, for alleged misconduct, negligence, and travelling abroad without permission.

The Assembly lifted the suspension after a committee investigating them submitted its recommendations.

The committee, chaired by Hon. Aminu Zakaria, the member representing  Gwaiwa constituency, recommended the reinstatement of the chairmen with a strong warning.

After presenting the report, the speaker, Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, opened the floor for discussion, and most members voted for their recall.

“Based on the committee’s recommendation and the endorsement of the majority, the House hereby approve that the suspended council chairmen should resume their duties as chairmen of their respective local government councils,” the speaker declared
