JOSTUM Senate Elects New Deputy VCs, Directors

The Senate of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi (JOSTUM) has elected two new Deputy Vice Chancellors (DVCs) following the expiration of the tenures of their predecessors.

The decision was made during its 324th Regular Meeting held on Friday, 16th May, 2025, at the Richard Anande Senate Chamber.

Professor Elizabeth Kembe, Director of Linkages, was elected as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), while Professor Raymond Wuana, Director of Research and Innovation, emerged as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).

In a similar vein, Prof. John Igoli has also emerged the new Director, Research and Innovation, while Prof. Theresa Kaankuka emerged new Director, Linkages.

The Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. I. N. Itodo, described the election process as smooth and seamless.

He urged the newly elected DVCs to uphold the highest standards of integrity, emphasising that they represent the institution as a whole, not any individual or group.

He also advised them to remain receptive to constructive feedback, avoid unilateral decision-making, and disregard unfounded rumors or hearsay.
