Jumbo Denies Existence Of Factions In Rivers NYCN

Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Rivers State, Comrade Gift Jumbo, has denied the existence of factions in the state chapter of the organisation.

Jumbo, who disclosed this in Port Harcourt, said she remains the authentic NYCN chairman in the state.

Dismissing the existence of other factions of NYCN in the state, she insisted that her leadership was valid, legitimate and would remain in effect till 2027.

A statement she issued yesterday read in part: “I, Gift Jumbo, remain the duly recognized and authentic Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). My leadership remains valid, legitimate, and in full effect until the expiration of my tenure in 2027.

“The so-called faction and its activities are unauthorized, unrecognized, and do not represent the voice, position, or structure of the NYCN at any level.”

Jumbo stated that the NYCN under her leadership was committed to promoting unity among Nigerian youths; supporting progressive government policies that benefit young people and engaging constructively on national issues, including security and surveillance reforms.
