LEADERSHIP gathered that the only surviving person in the accident was rescued with serious injuries.

The ghastly accident was said to have occurred at about 10:14 am and claimed the lives of 13 commuters on the spot in two buses involved.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the victims were burnt beyond recognition when the two buses had a head-on collision.

An eyewitness told LEADERSHIP that one of the buses, which was coming from the Ikare axis had a tyre burst, a development that led to loss of control and a resultant head-on collision with the incoming bus from the opposite direction loaded with fabrics.

“The injured victim was taken to Federal Medical Centre, Owo while the dead ones were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.
