The bomb went off at about 6:30pm in Goni Mittiri village under Gumsa town in Gaidam local government area of the State, eyewitnesses told LEADERSHIP.

It was gathered that mourners in the village, located some 20 kilometres away from Gaidam town, had gone to bury about 17 victims of Boko Haram attack, which occurred earlier on Monday, and while returning from the cemetery, they were struck with an explosion.

The bomb, according to the witnesses, may have been buried by the roadside.
