6 Dead In Lagos Multiple Accident

There was pandemonium in Amuwo Odofin local government area of Lagos State when a multiple accident involving a tanker loaded with oil, two commercial buses, a Honda saloon car and two commercial motorcycles, occurred at Second Rainbow inward Mile 2 on Sunday.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident, which happened at about 4pm, claimed six lives.

According to an eyewitness, who spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity, she narrated that the incident occurred after the truck driver lost control and crashed into other road users.

“The brake of the trailer failed and it crashed into those two vehicles. They have carried some bodies already. About six or seven,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has also confirmed the incident in a post on Sunday via its X handle (formerly Twitter). It, however, did not provide the number of casualties.

LASTMA said the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) was already on ground to attend to the victims of the accident while safety measures were being put in place by its personnel.

“A multiple accident involving a tanker loaded with oil, two commercial buses, a Honda saloon car and two commercial motorcycles has just occurred at Second Rainbow inward Mile 2.

“@lasambus is on the ground to attend to the casualties involved, and safety measures are being put in place by our men,” LASTMA stated.
