The market, which was previously destroyed by fire during the administration of the immediate-past Governor Godwin Obaseki, was undergoing reconstruction under the incumbent Governor Monday Okpebholo-led government.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Oredo local government area council, Hon. Gabriel Iduseri, has visited the burnt Oba market, which falls under the LGA.

During an on-the-spot assessment in the wee hours of Thursday, Iduseri vowed not to leave the traders to face the loss alone.

“This is a tragic moment for our people, especially for hardworking traders who depend on this market for their daily bread. We will not leave them to face this alone,” he stated.
