The Akwa Ibom State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara is dead.

The CP reportedly died in the early hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

Ayilara was said to have undergone a surgery for the treatment of prostate cancer on Wednesday before he died hours later.

Announcing the demise of the Akwa Ibom State’s police boss, a family source said, ”We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother and family, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara is dead”.
