Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has flagged off the Imole Business Empowerment Scheme 1.0, empowering about 2,000 women and youths with grants and working tools.

The initiative, which targeted beneficiaries across the 30 local governments and the state’s area office, empowered beneficiaries with CAC Business Registration Certificates, POS Terminals, and Start-Up Grants to begin their journey into entrepreneurship and financial independence immediately.

The governor said, “Beyond the handover of tools and funds, this scheme is built on capacity building and training, so our beneficiaries can grow and expand their businesses sustainably.

“This initiative is not just about today; it is about building the future of Osun State. It is about equipping our people with the skills, opportunities, and support to thrive. By focusing on women and youth, we are investing in the most productive segment of our society.

Our vision is clear”

According to the governor, the empowerment championed by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment in conjunction with First Bank Plc and Fidelity Bank Plc was designed to turn Osun into a hub of cooperative-driven development, make empowerment accessible at the grassroots, and leave no one behind in an attempt to share prosperity.

Speaking, the commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, said the event was a testimony to the administration’s commitment to sustainable development, youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, and inclusive economic growth.

While appreciating Governor Adeleke, Ogungbangbe urged beneficiaries to use the opportunities wisely, grow their businesses diligently, and become worthy ambassadors of their initiative, as the empowerment is not just a grant or a certificate, but a call to responsibility.
