The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the successful restoration of the national grid after it collapsed on Monday afternoon.
The collapse occurred at approximately 1:49 p.m. and caused widespread power outages across the country.
“Presently, supply has been restored except for the Jos Axis,” stated Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, General Manager Public Affairs of TCN.
“The Jos Axis will soon have supply within the hour.”
The TCN did not provide details regarding the cause of the grid collapse. However, the company assured that power will be restored to the Jos Axis shortly.
This incident marks the second time in less than two months that the national grid has collapsed.
The previous incident occurred on September 14, 2023, resulting in a nationwide blackout.
