Nigerian musician and rapper, Ice Prince, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly abducting and assaulting a police officer in Lagos.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this on his verified Ttwitter handle, the musician with real name Panshak Zamani, was driving very early on Friday morning, without a plate number on his car and he was stopped by a police officer only for him to deceive the law enforcement agent into the car and allegedly abducted and threatened him.
Hundeyin added that Ice Prince would be arraigned before a law court later on Friday.
The Lagos Police spokesnan wrote, ”At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
Ice Prince is a popular musician who hails from Jos, Plateau State and became famous under the Chocolate City Records, with songs like ‘Oleku’, which he sang a decade and half ago.
