Residents of Ondo State, on Tuesday, trooped out in their large numbers to stage a peaceful protest along the Ore-Benin Expressway in the State, to register their displeasure over the biting scarcity of Naira notes and fuel.
The angry protesters blocked the ever-busy road thereby causing traffic gridlock. Many travellers plying the route were stranded for several hours.
One of the protesters, Adebayo Adeyemi, said the recent hardship being faced by Nigerians across the country was quite alarming.
“We are protesting to send a message to the government, that we the masses are suffering,” Adeyemi stated.
