The suspension followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Abia State government and leadership of the union in Umuahia at the weekend.

According to the MoU, all differences in the implementation of the Consolidated Judicial Salary Structure, which was the bone of contention had been resolved.

A statement by the Commissioner for Information in the state, Okey Kanu said the state has commenced arrangements for the payment of the judicial workers.

“Government, therefore, expects that the ongoing strike be called off immediately to pave the way for the reopening of our courts,” the statement added.
Consequently, LEADERSHIP gathered that the executives of the branch were expected to convene a congress as soon as possible to officially call off the action.
