The Kaduna Polytechnic has probed dress code enforcement following complaints from students who were reportedly denied access to lectures over alleged dress code violations.

It was gathered that the incident which occurred at the institution’s College of Business and Management Studies, gained public attention after videos circulated on social media showed students protesting outside the school premises.

In one of the viral videos, a female student who did not disclose her name expressed frustration after she and several others were stopped from attending lectures despite being allowed into the campus earlier by security personnel.

According to the student, her outfit was modest and fully covered, questioning why officials asked her to leave after she had already entered the school.

Reacting to the incident, the management of Kaduna Polytechnic said it had taken note of the viral video and clarified that the students’ outfits, as seen in the footage, appeared moderate and appropriate.

In a statement issued by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Protocol, Godwin B. Ayegba, the institution said the affected students should not have been prevented from attending their lectures based on the clothing shown in the video.
