The Kaduna State Executive Committee (SEC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unanimously expelled its deputy chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, and eight other members from the party over alleged misconduct

The decision for the expulsion of the members was part of the resolutions reached by the organ of the party during its meeting in Kaduna.

The ADC State leadership alleged that the expelled members which included the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Idris Musa, were found guilty of alleged gross misconducts such as insubordination, holding illegal and secret meetings to usurp party leadership, falsification of documents, extortion of members of the party, offences which are capable of tarnishing the image of ADC.

Other expelled members were the State Vice Chairman Zone 1, Sulaiman Abdullahi; State Treasurer, Gambo Sani; State Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada, and the State Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa.

Those that also appeared in the expulsion list were the State Coordinator of the PWD, Saura Muhammed, the State Deputy Youths Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed and Mansur Gaga.

Addressing a press conference shortly after its meeting, the chairman of the party, Elder Patrick Ambut, maintained that the leadership of ADC in Kaduna State remained committed to peace, discipline, and the rule of law as enshrined in the party’s constitution.

Ambut explained that the actions of the deputy chairman were an abuse of office, adding that those actions were tantamount to causing disharmony within the party in the state and the North-West zone at large.

”As law-abiding members of the ADC party, we are committed to upholding the Constitution of the party and ensuring the integrity of our party’s structure,” he said.

This is just as he insisted that the Deputy Chairman’s actions were a gross violation of the ADC Constitution and contrary to established party procedures.

“The Deputy Chairman acted without due process, as he lacks the constitutional authority to convene any meeting or issue such directives,” the ADC chairman stressed.
