The Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, has begun a media tour across leading media organisations in Kaduna to strengthen collaboration between the government and the press in combating misinformation and fake news.
The tour, which commenced earlier this week, includes visits to major broadcast stations such as the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Freedom Radio, and DITV/Alheri Radio.
Maiyaki noted that Governor Uba Sani’s administration sees the media as a key partner in promoting transparency, accountability, and people-centred governance.
He emphasised that the visit aims to foster a stronger working relationship between the government and media professionals, ensuring that accurate and credible information reaches the public.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to openness and regular engagement with journalists, stressing that effective communication is vital for building public trust.
In separate remarks, NTA zonal director, Malam Isyak Abbass, and Freedom Radio group executive director, Malam Lawal Mohammed, commended the initiative, describing it as timely and essential for enhancing professional cooperation.
The media tour will continue through the week, covering both public and private media houses across the state.
