The new Board of Directors of Kaduna Electric has approved salary increase for staff across board.

The news of the upward review of salaries was contained in a statement by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Yusuf Usman Yahaya, over the weekend.

The statement said the Board of Directors deemed it appropriate and necessary to review staff salaries in view of the prevailing harsh economic climate in the country and in order to ensure staff are well motivated to continue to work even harder for Kaduna Electric to achieve its goals.

The managing director said the increment will come into effect as soon as modalities for implementation have been concluded by the Management.

He added that both the Board and Management under his leadership are committed to the welfare of employees and will strive to meet all obligations to staff.

He urged staff to reciprocate the kind gesture by doubling their work rate so that Kaduna Electric can meet remittance expectations of the electricity market.

He warned that management shall take stern measures against staff who indulge in vices that impede the progress of the company while assuring that staff who work diligently shall be duly recognised and adequately rewarded.
