Kaduna State Government has donated 10,000 seedlings to the Nigerian Defence Academy to support its one million tree planting campaign.
Presenting the seedlings to the NDA Commandant and the academy’s management yesterday in Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani said the donation is in line with the administration’s vision to plant ten million trees before the end of his tenure.
Gov. Sani, represented by the State Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Abubakar Buba, said the NDA is a respected Institution within and outside the country’s shores.
The Commissioner stressed that there’s no gain in saying that environmental degradation and climate change are affecting the ecosystem, and the Kaduna State Government is putting all its allies into fighting the menace.
Buba added that NDA is a worthy partner in fulfilling the mission by establishing a biodiversity conservatory in the academy.
In his address, the NDA Commandant, Maj Gen John O Ochai, thanked the Government and the people of Kaduna State for being a wonderful host to the Nigerian Defence Academy.
